Looking Back at When Maurice Sendak and Spike Jonze Hung Out

Well, if you didn't hear, today has started poorly with the news legendary children's book author Maurice Sendak has died at 83, due to complications from a recent stroke. I'll leave it to The New York Times for the full obituary, but I thought we might remember the illustration icon with a brief featurette made by Spike Jonze back in 2009, when the director sat down with Sendak to talk about his seminal book and the then-upcoming Where the Wild Things Are movie. Have a look below.

I plan to spend the entire night bellowing mournful, animalistic howls. And now I have a justifiable reason for why I'm doing that.
