'Lawless' Trailer: Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy Make Some Booze

lawless-trailer.jpg

Here's the trailer for Lawless, the Nick Cave-scripted John Hillcoat film formerly titled The Wettest County until it was realized how quickly every subway ad would have its "o" scratched out. The Prohibition-era drama focuses on a group of violent, bootlegging brothers heroically providing moonshine to Franklin county, Virginia, and the cast is hard to beat. Plucking talented rising stars and established presences from some of Hollywood's biggest franchises, Hillcoat has assembled an ensemble that includes Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Guy Pearce, and Jessica Chastain. Why wait to see Pearce and Chastain playing scientist and sexy scientist (respectively) in Iron Man 3 when you can see them RIGHT NOW playing slimy lawman and sexy bootlegging assistant (respectively)? And why isn't Michael Fassbender in this? Seems like a slap in the face when you've invited every other capable, suddenly-ubiquitous actor to the party.

Well, I hope it's not a spoiler that Tom Hardy gets his throat slit, because oh shit, did you see that slit throat?
