'Django Unchained' Teaser Poster Goes with the Less Is More Approach

It's taken them a while, but film marketers seem to finally be catching on to the fact that if you the ever-critical internet has a welcoming soft spot for minimalist poster design. For Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Django Unchained--his spaghetti western-style film that sees Jamie Foxx as a former slave out for vengeance against ranch owner Leonardo DiCaprio--the Weinstein Company has fully embraced the less is more approach with this poster that trades floating heads for stylized silhouettes, not even mentioning the film's title or stars.

Of course, this is just a teaser poster, and it may well be an internet only design. Until we know otherwise, let's assume theater lobbies will instead be seeing a version that uses a still from Ray with some chains hastily photoshopped into the reflection of his sunglasses. "From the guys who brought you Pulp Fiction and Booty Call," eh?
