Yeah, 'Hunger Games' Is Getting Someone Rich

Don't you go spending your weekend worrying about The Hunger Games' financial situation, okay? It is doing just fine. So fine that it's already set a new record for non-sequel midnight openings, pulling in $19.75 million last night alone. To put that in perspective, that is more than the last Batman, and you know how much we like Batman. The numbers are good enough that analysts are predicting it may beat the last Twilight sequel's $138 million opening to become the fifth biggest weekend on record. As one studio mogul tells Deadline, popularity for The Hunger Games has swelled to the point it is now a "four-quadrant film," (4!!!) bringing together young and old, man and woman, an androgynous, ageless audience eager to find out who ordered this pig. This changes everything common sense said about naming a main character "Peeta."
