'Dead in Tombstone' Promises Roughest-Looking Cast Since 'Expendables'

Continuing to let his Wrestler prestige melt away like the features on his face, Mickey Rourke has agreed to star with Anthony Michael Hall and Danny Trejo in Dead in Tombstone, an action-adventure from the director of The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption and multiple Death Race sequels. Rourke will play the Devil. Trejo will play a revived corpse. It's that kind of thing.

The film focuses on Trejo's Guerrero Hernandez, a tough-guy outlaw gang leader who has designs on looting the local mining town of Edendale. But first! He's going to have to break his half-brother out of jail, and his half-brother is Anthony Michael Hall, because no one looks like a hardened criminal and relative of Danny Trejo more than AMH. As it turns out, Hall's loyalty for his half-brother is as questionable as their blood relation; he betrays Trejo and gets him killed. Fortunately for Trejo, the Devil Rourke is willing to make a deal to exact vengeance on the double-crossing star of Dead Zone, bringing Trejo back to life a year later so that he might wage war over Edendale--which has now been renamed Tombstone, because such are the subtle themes of life and death explored in Dead in Tombstone.

Still, a cast like that, you don't need subtlety. If they can get Eric Roberts and a topless woman in this thing, this is a license to print DVD sleeves.

Now that casting Mickey Rourke in something doesn't automatically mean your movie is desperate and terrible, he's apparently going to play every old, strong guy. The mildly grotesque actor/pugilist, who will soon be seen swinging electro-whips at Robert Downey Jr., was just yes... / Continue →
