Next 'Scary Movie' Delayed Until Someone Makes It, Other Films Shuffled Around Too

Though at this point it seems like a new Scary Movie pops up spontaneously as soon as enough memorable horror catchphrases reach the ears of a grinning Ghostface mask, unbelievably, that is not the case. People make these things! That is someone's daughter--probably Mr. Electra's daughter--out there in a bra, pillow-fighting a George W. Bush lookalike. Sadly, the Weinsteins seem to have forgotten that, and they aren't going to make their planned April release date for the next Scary Movie film--a reboot of the series, which probably just means replacing the Ghostface mask with that red-faced guy from Insidious and the newfound freedom to re-use a few Sixth Sense gags. They've officially pushed the film all the way back to January 11 of next year. Sorry you have to wait, Scary Movie fans, but just think how many more Paranormal Activity films there will be to lazily reference now! Several!
The Weinstein Company also set a September 21 release date for Andrew Dominick's Brad Pitt-starring adaptation of Cogan's Trade. The long-delayed comedy Butter, starring Jennifer Garner as a midwestern butter artist, has been pushed back to October 5; similarly, the schoolyard bullying documentary Bully has also been bumped several weeks, and will now premiere March 30. The U.S. release of the French drama The Intouchables will happen May 25.
