Sony Working on Something Involving Dracula and Van Helsing

Part of a plan to eventually make enough vampire/Frankenstein/witch/zombie films to gather sufficient costumes to turn Hollywood into a creepy haunted house, which will then help pay for Hollywood's new basketball uniforms, Sony has apparently begun work on yet another fucking Dracula thing. The studio let slip the exciting news through the registration of a group of new domain names, all of which seem to point to some kind of developing Van Helsing and Dracula film. They just have to figure out who gets top billing:

This week, Sony Pictures registered a slew of domain names through the brand protection company MarkMonitor that revealed the movie's possible titles.

At least eight domains were purchased, all on January 17, 2012.

Here's a look at the registrations:

Sony Pictures has yet to make any official announcement, but presumably this film will be some sort of action-horror take on the characters. Though I say this only because, if it were being put together as, say, a Van Helsing/Dracula stoner buddy comedy, I'd hope the studio would have the foresight to register some domains for Bram Toker's Coffin' Smoke as well. More as this develops.

Though it seems that R.I.P.D. has the format pretty well covered now, Men in Black will nonetheless be getting another sequel. Or at least Sony is making the expected push for as much, hiring on The Kitchen Sink writer Oren Uziel to produce a script to make them some money on M... / Continue →
