Michel Gondry Sweded a 'Taxi Driver' Remake
Remember when it was rumored Lars von Trier was going to remake Taxi Driver? Well, that ended up not happening, but here's the next strangest thing: an abridged Taxi Driver directed by and starring Michel Gondry as the new Travis Bickle, sociopathic on whimsy and violent with childlike preciousness.
Has there ever been a better visual metaphor for Gondry's filmmaking than the images of him loading a gun with colored pencils to make heads explode in fanciful colors? It turns my heart to cardboard.
