- Eric Bana and Danny Huston are attached to play Elvis and Nixon, respectively, in Cary Elwes's directorial debut, Elvis & Nixon, a film that documents a December, 1970 meeting, during which Elvis asked the President for a Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs badge. How quaint were the days before we had Steven Seagal and Shaq uniformed and patrolling our streets.

- According to TwitchFilm, Harry Potter castmates Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham Carter are up for the parts of Colonel and Lady Miyako in the recently-greenlit Akira remake. Which is good, because I always thought Helena Bonham Carter looked like a Lady Miyako.

- Warner Bros. is confident enough in the future success of Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows that they've already hired Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce to write more Downeyquips for another Holmes sequel. Don't worry, Drew: even if Sherlock Holmes 2 ends up bombing, the Star Trek: TNG fan fiction community is always aching for new Data-as-Holmes premises.
