Quentin Tarantino Making Don Johnson a Star Again with Part in 'Django Unchained'

Casting Don Johnson in your new movie, Quentin Tarantino? Isn't that a little too easy of a Tarantino move? Yes, it is, but it's still reportedly happening, with QT reaching deep into the buck-toothed maw of Bucky Larson: Born To Be a Star to pluck out Johnson for the slave-revenge film Django Unchained. According to Deadline, Johnson's role is that of Spencer Bennett, a wealthy plantation owner that former slave Django (Jamie Foxx) and his mentor, Christoph Waltz, come across while pursuing a bounty.
As I mentioned, it's sort of an obvious pull from the past for the director who unfortunately resurrected the career of John Travolta, but to Johnson's credit, he has proven himself both willing and able to play convincing racist maniacs when required. As you may recall, last year he played a Mexican-hating vigilate border patroller in Robert Rodriguez's Machete. And, more famously, Johnson spent five years on CBS's Nash Bridges, the whole time clearly harboring an unspoken deep-seated hatred for Cheech Marin and, by extension, his entire race. You could just tell.
