It Took a Pandemic To Take Down the Servile Class

Your weekend box office:
1. Contagion - $23.1 million. Only one thing could end The Help's run of box office dominance, and it turns out that thing was an infirm Gwyneth Paltrow.
2. The Help - $8.7 million, slipping a spot now that there's something out with that Bourne guy in it.
3. Warrior - $5.6 million. When it comes to mixed martial arts fighting, it seems America continues to prefer its fighters to punch and thigh-choke each other into unconsciousness in a context-free environment, sans Nick Nolte.
4. The Debt - $4.9 million, a 50% drop in receipts but still enough to push the film into gross profit over its $20 million budget. Which is good news for those of us hoping this film would lead to a Helen Mirren-Sam Worthington buddy comedy.
5. Colombiana - $4 million, with this and another nine films keeping Bucky Larson's hilarious haircut and wacky prop teeth shoved down to the 15th spot.
