'Expendables 2' Producers Would Like Taylor Lautner, Cast of 'Face/Off' and/or 'Broken Arrow', Chuck Norris, and Others

The Expendables was really less a movie than a action film-themed sideshow, a group of veiny freaks gathered together so that we could see them lined up and shot at, just to say that we saw it. A sequel, then, is pretty redundant unless some new freaks have been dragged out to be a gross spectacle for us. Thankfully, Sylvester Stallone and the producers of The Expendables seem to understand this, and they're reportedly working to organize an even more bizarrely-inclusive cast of past and present action stars than before. According to Moviehole, there's a pretty ambitious casting wish list going around, and on it are Ip Man's Donnie Yen, Highlander's Christopher Lambert, Chuck Norris, Christian Slater, John Travolta, Nicolas Cage, and Taylor Lautner. None are signed, and talks likely haven't even started with most, but this gives you an idea of what kind of mixed bag director Simon West, Sylvester Stallone, and producers Avi Lener and Boaz Davidson are hoping to put together: a team with the most uneven, embarrassing cumulative résumé they can assemble. I can't wait for that poster, though.
