Kevin Costner Trains Slaves To Fight to the Death

Quentin Tarantino's cast for Django Unchained is Costner-less no longer. Joining Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson in the film is ol' Kevin Costner, who's now in talks to play Ace Woody, a trainer who works on DiCaprio's Candyland slave ranch. While Costner's training talents would clearly work best at shaping a ragtag group of slaves into an effective baseball team that could finally take out their rivals one plantation over, according to Deadline, the role is of a far darker nature, with Woody training the slaves to fight one another to the death for the entertainment of the white patrons. First, though, KC will be playing Superman's dad, Pa Kent, in The Man of Steel, thus allowing him to first endear himself to us as an old, fatherly figure before he reveals his violent, racist side. Just like grandpa did.
