- Tom Hanks is talking to frequent collaborator Robert Zemeckis about directing that 3-D Major Matt Mason space adventure he's been wanting to do. It's unclear if this means Tom Hanks's Polar Express alter-ego will be re-emerging from our suppressed nightmares.
- Someone let Madonna make another movie, and now the Weinsteins are going to put it in theaters. It's called W.E., and it's "being billed as Madonna's feature directorial debut," even though Madonna already made this other terrible movie. Whoops!
- Someone with the comic book name Rick Rapier has written a sequel to Ferris Bueller's Day Off that for some reason he thinks will be produced, and you can read the first twelve pages here. Naturally, Regis Philbin gets the opening line. (via)
- And, sadly, Laura Ziskin--a Hollywood producer with 26 credits to her name, including What About Bob? and the entire Spider-Man franchise--died Sunday after a seven-year battle with breast cancer. She was 61.
