'Jurassic Park IV' Looking More Likely Again

The decision to scrap plans for another Jurassic Park movie due to fear of Michael Crichton's wrathful ghost has been reconsidered, and now Steven Spielberg is talking with a writer about restarting the franchise.

Unless you count a false alarm at Universal Studios, last we heard about a fourth chapter in the series was December '08, when producer Kathleen Kennedy told a crowd, "You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it." Spielberg, however, apparently does not share Kennedy's view of the author's death as a grave portent warning us away from making Jurassic Park IV, as he's now got I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich trying to come up with a story that might rejuvenate the franchise. Like a dinosaur talent show, maybe. Or Jurassic Park I again, but in 3-D this time and with Shia LaBeouf playing Jeff Goldblum's part. Or Michael Crichton's ghost inhabiting the body of a tyrannosaurus rex to wreak vengeance and churn out a couple more page-turners for your dad. I have no idea, but you can figure that, somehow, Spielberg finds a way.
