Evangeline Lilly, Dame Edna Join 'Hobbit'

On The Hobbit's official Facebook page, Peter Jackson has announced the addition of two more names to his cast of millions. Lost actress and uncredited White Chicks partygoer Evangeline Lilly will lend her elf-like, Kate Beckinsale-esque features to Tauriel, a newly-created Wood Elf character. Of the part, Jackson would only say, "Her name means 'daughter of Mirkwood' and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing," adding, "(No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.)," because he knew we'd think that, the elvenkind matchmakers we are.

On the CGI front, Barry Humphries--the Australian actor and comedian best known for his his purple-haired Dame Edna character--will lend his voice to the Goblin King and, like with Andy Serkis's Gollum and Benedict Cumberbatch's Smaug, provide the motion-capture for the character. Jackson provided no denial as to the Goblin King's possible romantic relationship with Orlando Bloom's Legolas, so let your imaginations run with it.
