'50/50' Trailer: The Kind of Cancer Movie That Will Probably Have a Good Soundtrack
Finally, an indie dramedy in which the thin, white, relatively well-to-do 20-something at its center has a reason to be all whiney and despondent: he's got cancer! Written by and based on the experiences of actual 27-year-old cancer survivor/Seth Rogen friend Will Reiser, 50/50 stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a young man diagnosed with the disease, while Rogen shows up to be all Seth Rogeny as the best friend that helps him cope. Here's the film's first trailer, which looks good enough that I'll probably have to just go ahead and see thing, despite knowing full well that I will be thoroughly convinced I have cancer for months afterward. I guess it can't be any worse than post-Inception "I'm in a dream!" panic.
