Prepare to face a haunting bug-eyed glare, Superman. Just as rumor foretold, Boardwalk Empire's Michael Shannon will indeed be the villain in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, and the official press release reveals that vilain will be General Zod, the evil Kryptonian previously portrayed by Terence Stamp. Snyder said of the casting:
"Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role."
So, Steve Buscemi for Zod's buddy Non, then? Doesn't really fit the part physically, I know, but I like the idea of an evil team made up entirely of guys who look like they've been up for 72 hours planning serial murders.
