As a follow-up to last month's reveal that Tim Burton's Superman might have worn a glowing plastic case, effects designer Steve Johnson's Facebook page has posted some unused concept art from J.J. Abrams' failed attempt and Bryan Singer's debatably-successful attempt at a Man of Steel film. If your dream for a live-action Superman was to see the hero's belt and external underwear exchanged for more of a troll doll belly, you're really going to like these.
This He-Man villain-looking guy is Superman's eventual murderer, Doomsday, who was apparently being considered for Singer's take. And if I'm understanding the design, the film version of the character would have been able to bashfully conceal his mouth within his flesh turtleneck?
