Hey, James L. Brooks, You Somehow Spent $120 Million Making a Bland Romantic Comedy

Looks like James L. Brooks went a little wild with the checkbook when he was making his upcoming romantic-comedy, How Do You Know. Apparently given carte blanche after the wild success of Spanglish, the director has been throwing around summer blockbuster-level money to aid in telling his Reese Witherspoon/Owen Wilson/Paul Rudd love triangle tale, spending $120 million on the film. That number comes down to $100 million after tax rebates, but still, kind of a lot when there are no Ironmen or 3-D, CGI robots. Let's try to bring that number down for It Got Even Better (the sequel to As Good As It Gets James L. Brooks will have to make to make up for how much money is lost on this.)
