Jonathan Liebesman Given Thankless Task of 'Clash of the Titans 2'

Despite no one really caring for it all that much, Clash of the Titans's mix of Sam Worthington, CGI and an afterthought of 3-D was somehow enticing enough for it to make nearly half-a-billion dollars worldwide, so, no surprise, we're getting a second one. But who will accept the chore of making a big-budget sequel to an immediately shrugged off would-be franchise? The director of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, obviously. After what the Hollywood Reporter claims were a full summer of negotiations, Jonathan Liebesman was finally offered enough money to take the job of directing the film. Godspeed.
In addition to a change of director, Warner and Legendary are promising another change in their inexplicably-successful Clash of the Titans formula this go round: real 3-D cameras, no more shoddy, murky post-production 3-D. What's the kraken release situation, though, guys?
