Jul 29 2010'Total Recall' Remake Has a Director

Lest you forget we're remaking Total Recall--"for a new generation of fans"--Columbia Pictures has announced their choice for who will direct this "contemporized" take on Philip K. Dick's We Can Remember It for You Wholesale. Len Wiseman, the man who brought us Die Hard 4 and every fucking one of those Underworld films is reportedly in final negotiations to direct this re-imagining. In the press release, Wiseman declares his fascination with the original story, and loosely promises to dive deeper into its world and themes--while maintaining the name Total Recall, of course, because no one's going to see some shit called "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale." Give me a name I can remember from a couple decades ago!

By the way, if you haven't yet discovered Netflix or Hulu or Downloading Things or any of these movies-at-home services, now would be a great time to look into that and never go to the theater again.

Oh for Chri-sakes, really? Did the first one blow that bad?

No the first one didn't have a young fey enough lead. I can't wait for the "Your possible Quaid's" list.

GET YOUR ASS TO MARS!

How do you contemporize a sci-fi movie that takes place in the future?

This article's URL cut off the headline at the exact right spot.

GOOD: Return of the bitch with three boobies.
BAD: Everything else.

I'm really starting to hate this director, he wishes he was in the same league as John Mctiernan and Paul Verhoeven.

Have you seen the Total Recall musical on youtube? Freaking hilarious. Better than the Conan one I'd say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej3Szj6WcCY

no. no. no.

Aah for fucks sake who the fuck keeps telling these directors they have talent? The Underworld films were fucking crap, and Die Hard 4.0 made Underworld look like Oscar winning shit. My god if there was ever a need for a sniper in hollywood, you wouldn't waste a single bullet on the actors.

Total Recall isn't Totall Recall without Arnie? Its just a shit movie. This doesn't NEED remaking? Who the fuck is actually telling another fuck that this movie needs remaking, and why the fuck don't either of them know anything about what makes a good film!

I wanted an update to Total Recall...but not like this. Dammit. :(
