Mark Ruffalo Most Likely That Hulk Character Now

Never mind about Joaquin Phoenix possibly being cast as Edward Norton's replacement Hulk: we've got someone else. According to Deadline, Mark Ruffalo's the guy, and Marvel is in "late-stage talks" for him to take on the role of Bruce Banner. If signed, the Brothers Bloom star would join Eric Bana and Edward Norton on the ever-lengthening list of surprisingly respectable actors who have played the part--as well as joining Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Samuel L. Jackson when they make their little Avengers movie. The decision also proves Marvel's still got it when it comes to "Hah! Never saw that coming, did ya?" casting.

What do you think, guys? It's by far a step up from Joaquin Phoenix, I say. And at least now we know Joss Whedon must have really liked watching The Kids Are Alright last weekend.
