Jeph Loeb Helping Marvel Make Marvel Superheroes Even More Ubiquitous

marvel-universe.jpg

In news that would have been better like a decade ago, Deadline is reporting comic and screen writer Jeph Loeb has been appointed head of Marvel Entertainment's newly-formed television division. Loeb's job will be to "adapt Marvel characters and stories to television as both live-action and animation series," so when you roll your eyes at some kind of live-action Namor coming to the CW, it will have been his nod that approved it.

In comics, Loeb's work has been largely praised, with his Batman: The Long Halloween series in the late '90s proving particularly influential. His screen work with superheroes, however, has been a tad less well-received, with his name being attached as producer and sometime writer on Smallville and Heroes. But I guess when you've got Teen Wolf, Commando, AND Teen Wolf Too on your resume, you're granted some clemency.
