Happy Future Christmas: It's the Muppets

Christmas 2011, look forward to more company than an $8 bottle of gin and that ever-nagging pain of lonely defeat. The Muppets are coming! Variety reports the new film--directed by James Bobin and written by Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller--will open on the Sunday of Christmas itself, putting it two days behind its holiday weekend competition, Spielberg's Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn and Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo. I guess the logic behind this move is that a CHRISTMAS DAY release looks better on a poster than a "mere days before Christmas" release. Either way, good luck besting We Bought a Zoo. Those guys bought a zoo, yo.
