Gaiman Novel, 'Killer Pizza', 'Carpe Diem Pun' Horror Films in the Works

Chris Columbus's 1492 production company (Get it? His name) has announced plans to produce adaptations of three horror novels--one by Neil Gaiman, one that's Monster Squad meets Ghostbusters in a pizza parlor, and one with a horribly punny name that sounds like another ABC single-camera sitcom for Mom to modestly enjoy. Heat Vision blog says:

Neil Jordan is writing the script for [Neil Gaiman's] "Graveyard," which centers on a young boy raised in a graveyard and educated by ghosts, and will direct the live-action movie as well.

Also on the docket:

"Killer Pizza": The action-packed, coming-of-age comedy is about a 14-year-old boy who lands a summer job at Killer Pizza -- where such pies as the Monstrosity and the Frankensausage are on the menu -- but quickly learns it's a front for a monster-hunting organization.

"Carpe Demon": Based on Julie Kenner's novel, "Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom," the project tells the tale of a stay-at-home mother who is charged with cleaning up her demon-ridden small town.

Killer Pizza... I've been waiting for you ever since R. L. Stine never wrote a Goosebumps with that premise, even though you'd think he would have squeezed that in between some of those Night of the Living Dummy titles.
