Mar 15 2010'Predators' Sneak Peek: There's a Predadog or Something
Further evidence that no franchise will ever die--they will only hibernate, mutate, and return when you least expect it--here's a peek you can sneak of the newly pluralized Predator movie, Predators. This times things take an unexpected turn when "cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members"--Earth's greatest predators--find THEMSELVES the prey of a new breed of predator on an alien world. How sort of ironic! I guess this latest chapter is meant to give the impression it's taking place just after the twist ending of a Twilight Zone episode.
Hopefully these characters have all seen the first movie, so they won't make the same mistakes as Carl Weathers.

"they're such killers, they're such predators."
woah.
must, watch.
2. Count Orlock - March 15, 2010 5:23 PM
I pray to god that they don't use to much CGI.

In the words of Stifler, "haha, YES"

"it's taking place just after the twist ending of a Twilight Zone episode."
Why do I get the feelingthat the movie takes place in an extended Twilight Zone episode with poorly shot action sequence akwardly tacked onto it?

What are the odds of seeing a skull of one of those blue Avatar guys on some spaceship wall, so we can have another weird spin-off 'vs' movie in another 20 years?
8. Beastman AIDS - March 15, 2010 7:21 PM
the last two predator movies have been complete trash so I won't be holding my breath with this one. The cast looks promising though.
9. Letter N - March 15, 2010 8:45 PM
I'd be a lot more excited if Robert Rodriguez was the director and not the producer.
10. Ednon - March 15, 2010 8:45 PM
@Beastman
There were ONLY two Predator movies, everyone knows AvP doesn't count
11. Langdon - March 15, 2010 10:06 PM
"You can't compete with Arnold, so we went the opposite way..."
No... nobody wants to see the opposite way. We want an action movie, not a fucking twisty drama with predators.
12. Hal - March 15, 2010 10:56 PM
By opposite way do you mean Academy Award winning actor who's never been in a successful action film and is really skinny Rodriguez? Or do you just mean cast Topher Grace, the least believable Predator on earth? That is unless he's a serial rapist/child molestor... in which case I prey for a Predator baby girl in a hut Eric Forman tries to make the moves on (in the FAAAAACE) when BAM predad shows up and flays him alive. I'll pay good money for that.
Also- Rodriguez is looking like the Latino Brendan Fraser these days. Why trim the Samsonesque locks RR?
13. pmoney - March 15, 2010 11:48 PM
@ at 9, i totally agree. Rodriguez would be the perfect director for this kinda movie.
Other than that it looks pretty good so far, Great cast. and i like where Rodriguez said he wanted it to be like every character could be the main character, i hate knowing exactly who's gonna live and who's gonna die within the first 5 minutes of a movie.

""Count Orlock - March 15, 2010 5:23 PM

You dont have to worry COunt Orlock, There are Many pictures of the Guys Dressed as predators, so the predators are real, they shot the movie in Hawaii, so the setting is real, the only cgi is with the PREDADOG, but alot of it is done in the set,
THANK GOD!
15. TetterkeT - March 16, 2010 12:37 AM
So wait, is this an Asylum Entertainment knock off or the real thing?
16. arnold schwarzenegger - March 16, 2010 5:21 AM
i hope this is part of a faux trailer from an upcoming grindhouse movie. this looks like total shit: if it looks like shit, and it sounds like shit, then it must be shit. predators? c'mon, don't bullshit me!
17. ryanstone - March 16, 2010 12:56 PM
Can we just knock it off already with the 'bad ass chick' thing already? I get so tired of the scowling, tough girl. It's bullshit. To top it all of, it's always Michelle Rodriguez.

PRETTY SAFE ASSUMPTION: a bunch of humans are abducted and dumped on a planet, none of them know each other. They eventually see a bunch of corpses, couple of their group vanish, may get a brief glimpse of a pred, and decide they are being hunted.. I guess they find a bunch of sick ass weapons (maybe the preds planted) and go out and hunt the hunters, for about 30-45mins of balls out action.. Plus I don't think these predators are anything special, maybe a different clan to ones we have seen before due to the pictures that have been released.. but they obviously like to hunt.. Also in that screen grab for this article, im pretty sure the predator is wearing a mask, it isn't a different form/breed/mutation. To be honest I don't know why I have just spouted all this crap, guess its coz im high as a giraffe ass and creaming in anticipation of this film... Lets just hope its nothing like Planet Terror, gawd that was awful, every aspect of it, the acting, the comedy, the plot etc..
19. Thrasher - March 16, 2010 5:10 PM
The reason the first predator was so good was that they spent 20 minutes of it showing you how BAD ASS Arnold and crew are. They are the best of the best at killing.
If they take 10 guys and throw them together and those 10 guys take on 7 predators? PLEASE.
1 predator fought an entire elite merc squad with help from the terminator and nearly won. These guys wouldn't stand a chance against 7 of them let alone 1 predator and it's hunting dog(which is another stupid premise btw).
20. Hal - March 16, 2010 6:52 PM
I think Nimrod Antal is a better director than Rodriguez. No joke. He just hasn't made movies that pander to the geek crowd... TILL NOW!!!!!
21. Bazza - March 16, 2010 8:20 PM
If that is Michelle Rodriguez, and I think it is, I hope she gets her arm ripped off, her intestines used as tree decoration and her skull claimed as a trophy in the first 16 seconds. Preferably while the opening credits are still popping up. But she won't. That may be enough to make me not want to see this movie. Who seriously thinks it's a good idea to put her in a movie? Why not just use a cardboard cutout?
22. joijo - March 17, 2010 12:54 AM
That is the girl Form I AM LEGEND!!!!!!!
23. Predadog - March 17, 2010 8:46 AM
Does anybody know where I can find some cheap shoes? This seemed like the proper place to look
24. shiftmx - March 17, 2010 1:47 PM
Hey Ednon, you are incorrect on that one. If you look up predator in wikipedia, predator is followed by predator2 followed by Avp followed by Avp requiem followed by predators!!! If you you really want to get technical. Im just saying cuz they all count.
25. Steve - March 17, 2010 2:01 PM
I thought both movies were great (not counting AvP of course, although they were decent I suppose). One thing I noticed about this movie... boy is Lawrence Fishburne getting chubby, lol
26. Lord_Santa - March 18, 2010 5:06 AM
wow.
explosions.
and it's "cool".
yeah, we all remember Aliens vs. Predator; the most politically correct piece of crap ever to hit the market (an afro-american-female lead-character whom befriended the predators in the end)
Predator 1 PWNS
Predator 2 is ok
the rest of the series?
KILL IT!
WITH FIRE!
27. frank - March 18, 2010 9:59 AM
Wow. For one thing, I thought Robert Rodriguez was at least 50% more Mexican. For another, he's not directing? Then why the fuck is he not doing Sin City 2? Get your act together, RoRo!
Also, this movie looks stupid. Don't you just love exchanges like, "How do we kill them?" "Any way you can." Wow, that's so fucking helpful and informative. Just cause the motherfucker played Morpheus doesn't mean we'll take anything he says as deep and meaningful. If someone said that shit in real life, you'd just punch him in the face.
28. george washington - March 19, 2010 2:27 AM
hope this season of predators is way better than last season.
29. the heat - March 19, 2010 5:34 PM
@17
Yeah, I know. Tough women really break the realism of good action movie. I mean, think about how much more psychologically nuanced Predator is than, say, Alien.
More bad news: I just found out that pro-wrestling is scripted.
30. scott - March 21, 2010 12:52 AM
aliens are f ing better why wont thay make a movie 2
31. Walter - July 6, 2010 2:28 PM
@29
Being that women aren't allowed in combat roles in the vast majority of armed forces on earth, and/or aren't conscripted to work as hit squad members for criminal gangs, casting a woman as one of the "world's best killers" does seem rather unbelievable. It's an obvious ploy to get some tits on screen, and appeal to the politically correct crowd, because otherwise it's totally BS... as is this sequel in general.
32. Daniel - July 23, 2010 12:01 AM
This movie managed to get some good actors, I am a little surprised. Good movie though.
