Mar 8 2010I Really Think/Hope Keanu Reeves Is Joking About New 'Bill & Ted' Movie
Not that I don't enjoy my [faint memory of] the Bill & Ted movies (I seem to recall Napoleon eating ice cream, George Carlin, and an extended parody of The Seventh Seal); I'm just pretty sure another one would be really, really shitty--and placing those characters in 2010 reaches nearly Austin Powers levels of ridiculous anachronism. Also, I'm pretty sure Keanu Reeves was joking when he told MTV he's not joking about trying to put together a Bill & Ted sequel.
That said, here's Ted being pestered into saying he's trying to make another Bill & Ted movie:
That's a Keanu joke, right? I think it just comes off weird from a mix of being rightfully annoyed at being asked to greenlight a Bill & Ted movie on the red carpet and being nervous about having to read aloud later.

@ #3 Can You think of anyone better I wish I could It's sad that I can't think of any actor that would be a better choice than Keanu Reeves PLEASE let me know if you got a better idea

Hard to think of a famous actor who would fit the role, but if I had to, off the top of my head Ryan Reynolds would make a better Spike; he has the right voice and attitude, and could pull off the physical stuff (see blade trinity), and yes I know he's playing Green Lantern, which I think is a bad casting as well. Preferably, I'd cast an unknown for Spike, but then I'm not a hollywood producer. I just know that although Keanu is physically similar, I don't think he has the right demeanor or acting talent to do Spike justice.
...and I'm not alone in my feelings about this casting.

I always thought Reeves was ashamed of those Bill and Ted films. He seems very eager for peope to take him seriously as an "artist". The thing is, he's brilliant playing a stoner dude, or an esoteric guy who doesn't emote, because that is his range.

Keannu is a badass! agree with #1. Anyone who puts themselves thru the amazing physical training required by the matrix trilogy is a badass with a lot of self discipline

it's the role he was born to play

Woah.
What do you think it will be titled?
Bill & Ted's Heinous Excursion
Bill & Ted's Bodacious Voyage
Bill & Ted's Outstanding Expedition
Also, if you don't believe Keanu Reeves would be a good Spike, just watch this. He is clearly the perfect choice.
