Yes, 'Avatar' Still Making More Money Than Everything Else

avatar-behind-scenes.jpg

1. Avatar - $30 million. If it can maintain this pace for another 11 months, it can effectively become the only movie to have been in theaters this calendar year.

2. Edge of Darkness - $17.1 million. Hopefully this middling box office will convince Mel Gibson to give the public the blockbuster they want: Braveheart 2: Bravehearter.

3. When in Rome - $12.1 million, which equals a reasonably high number of people curious whether or not Veronica Mars ever gets that vase broken.

4. The Tooth Fairy - $10 million. Which is thankfully more than Fox paid for the concept of "The Santa Clause but with a hockey player becoming a tooth fairy."

5. The Book of Eli - $8.8 million. I liked it more than the book.
