The ridiculously direct literalness of Disney's High School Musical worked for them so well, the studio has decided to go for it again.

Variety reports Disney is currently developing a new film about some kids going to prom.That they're going to call Prom. Because it's about prom.

The comedy will likely feature a High School Musical-like cast of mostly unknowns (unknown until they're hanging in my locker!); Joe Nussbaum, whose résumé includes the modernized, Amanda Bynes-starring Snow White update, Sydney White, and the straight-to-video American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile, will expertly direct.

It sounds like everyone is working really hard to bring us the best Prom ever, guys, so let's all have a great time and create some Memories To Last a Lifetime!
