'Sherlock Holmes' Bad Guy, Kilowog Probably in 'Green Lantern'
In an interview with MTV, Green Lantern director Martin Campbell said, contrary to rumors that Jackie Earle Haley was definitely Sinestro, Jackie Earle Haley is definitely no Sinestro. Instead, the well-shorn director explained, actor Mark Strong is in negotiations to grow a pencil mustache and lend his appropriately-sinister gaze to the role.
AND THAT'S NOT ALL. Campbell went on to reveal some other members of the Green Lantern Corps that will make appearances, including Kilowog and Tomar-Re. For those not familiar with the Green Lantern universe's cast, Mom, that means there will be a giant pig-ogre and a freak with a fin-mohawk and a beak in this thing.
All in all, the entire project seems to be shaping up a lot better than you'd expect for a film that, six years ago, was going to be a zany, The Mask-style Jack Black comedy (which would have been poop). Martin Campbell is giving comic geeks just what they want. Except female companionship, of course.
