Merry Christmas! It's 'True Grit'!

It's a Christmas miracle: Paramount has announced that the Coen Brothers' new adaptation of True Grit will be a special present given to us on Christmas Day, with the film receiving a U.S. release on December 25. I'll probably still end up just spending the day playing with the same cheap slot car set I buy myself every year in the hopes of reclaiming a piece of my childhood that feels so distant in the emptiness of now, but it's nice to know that I can go watch a well-crafted piece of cinema if I get bored with that.
