Jan 20 2010DJ Caruso Directing High School Alien Thing
According to the Heat Vision blog, DJ Caruso, director of all your favorite Shia LaBeouf thrillers, has signed on to direct I Am Number Four for Dreamworks. The film's script, written by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar (note: Smallville is still on the air), is based on the upcoming young adult novel of the same name written by Jobie Hughes and Oprah's fallen, lying angel, James Frey.
Summary:
"Four" revolves around a group of nine aliens who escaped their home planet just before it was annihilated by a rival species. Hiding out on Earth, the title character disguises himself as a human high schooler, only to discover he is being hunted still by his planet’s enemy.
I don't want to be premature with my enthusiasm but, people, I think we may have another Suburban Commando on our hands!

So... it's Invader Zim played straight?
Oh well, the most we can hope for are some cool alien designs. I'm going to go waaaaaaaay out on a limb and say that they'll have an erect posture, two arms, two legs, one mouth, and two big, expressive eyes. And the badguys will look more insectoid than the good guys.

Um... I remember this... It was called Roswell and had that annoying chick who went on to be annoying on Gray's Anatomy and had the Dido theme song. It wasn't so great the first time around, so why are we remaking it?

Good thing I'm not a youngin', otherwise that figure would skyrocket.
