Jan 22 2010'Cyrus' Trailer: The John C. Reilly/Jonah Hill Rivalry You Didn't Realize You Needed

If Noah Baumbach made a Man of the House/Dutch-style son-fucking-with-mom's-new-boyfriend dark comedy starring John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill, this would be it. Not that Noah Baumbach made this--the guys who did The Puffy Chair did--but still, that's what this is. And it sort of looks just as good as that concept sounds:

Bonus points for Matt Walsh from Upright Citizens Brigade as Catherine Keener's new boyfriend (I'm pretty sure that's him).

So who dies first, this fat kid or Artie Lange?

As much as i like Jonah Hill, this looks really mediocre or at least the trailer makes it look that way.

and my moneys on artie lange

Oh, Lange all the way. But yeah, a little disappointed in the trailer.

Artie Lange has just died.

I, too, am quite disappointed by the trailer. I want to say the movie has potential, but the trailer didn't do much to show it. BTW, I love that Edward Sharpe song, but honestly, trailers don't have to use the "hip new song" every time. It's annoying, especially when it doesn't fit at all. Distracting really...and annoying...

I loved their band "Volcano, I'm Still Excited," but thought the Puffy Chair was one of the worst movies I've seen in recent history.

So this movie is going to suck, probably.

Hmm. It looks kind of... bleh. John C Reilly and Jonah Hill just seem to be relying on the audience going "Hey, it's John C Reilly and Jonah Hill!" for comedy. None of the dialogue or situations seem fresh or interesting. I'll wait for reviews.

I don think the movie is gonna be good...sorry to say that...

So step brothers, but with father+son instead of two sons?

Thanks for the quick information. I regularly read your blog/post and it is quite helpful for me to keep myself updates.
