Busybody Female Is Green Lantern's Girlfriend

From the murky pool of CW actors, Blake Lively has been plucked out of that Gossip Girl show to play the probable-non-character ladyfriend of a superhero man:

Blake Lively has nabbed the female lead opposite Ryan Reynolds in Warner Bros.' "Green Lantern."

Lively will play Carol Ferris, who runs her father's aerospace company and hires cocky test pilot Hal Jordan (Reynolds), who later becomes the intergalactic policeman Green Lantern.

I'd love to tell you more about if this is a good or bad decision, but unfortunately no human currently exists with intimate knowledge of both Gossip Girl actors and Green Lantern's sexual relationships.
