Dec 29 2009I Can't Argue With This List
David Wain's middle 10 neither best nor worst movies of the decade:
10. THE MEXICAN9. INSOMNIA
8. THE TERMINAL
7. CHARLIE WILSON’S WAR
6. MUSIC & LYRICS
5. 3:10 TO YUMA
3. TIE: RUNAWAY JURY / BABY MAMA
2. BLUE CRUSH
1. CHANGING LANES
My only complaint is, shouldn't at least one Shrek and more Drew Barrymore movies be on there?

Nice idea but Insomnia was actually pretty grea---eh who am I kidding that's pretty on the money.

I could argue that half of these movies were the worst movie of all time yet none of them could even be mentioned in a conversation about good movies.
Neither best nor worst isn't exactly accurate. I think he was shooting for "complete shit you probably forgot about".

I can't argue with this list either, though I really liked 3:10 to Yuma. Was *almost tempted to buy at the supermarket for $4.99...but decided "nah".
5. The Pope - December 29, 2009 4:43 PM
How is it possible that Paul Rudd wasn't in any of these movies?

i think the terminal deserves a bit more than baby mama and music+lyrics...

Are you kidding? There is no way 3:10 to Yuma belongs on this list. That movie was great.

Music and Lyrics is a Drew Barrymore movie... someone had to say it.
10. Richard - December 31, 2009 3:16 AM
I completely agree with all of these EXCEPT 3:10 to Yuma which was one of my favorite movies of 2007.
11. Frank - December 31, 2009 8:07 AM
I've only seen 5, 7, and 9, and those seemed better than average to me. Flawed, perhaps, but still in the top 30 percent.

"3:10 to Yuma" is the only one I'm thinking about buying. I'm thinking of watching "Charlie Wilson's War" someday. Maybe if it's on TV. Or a plane.

If they're neither best nor worst, then they are mediocre.
But then, 'The 10 Mediocre Movies of the Decade' doesn't sound right because there were more than 10 mediocre movies since 2000.
If you call them 'most mediocre' , that's paradoxical because mediocre things cannot be superlative.
Calling them 'The Top 10 Mediocre Movies of the Decade' seems right, but then that's going back to which is the most neither best nor worst.
If they are neither best nor worst, should they be standard by which all films of the past decade should be sorted and judged?
If they are neither very good nor very bad, just smack right in the middle, should they just be plainly called 'movies'? If so, then should they be called '10 movies of the decade?

@9 He said there should be more Drew Barrymore movies on the list, not that there weren't any...fail. Someone had to say it.
@14 Pretentious much?

Shouldn't Drew Barrymore movies be on the worst list or even BE the worst movies list of all space and time? And while I'm on a roll, I think the person at Covergirl who signed off on her being a "covergirl "should be taken out and maimed.

Where's #4? And why hasn't anyone else asked this?
