Dec 14 2009How Is This Not a SyFy Movie? 'Fading of the Cries' Trailer

fading-of-the-cries-trailer.jpg

I have absolutely no idea what this movie is about. I've watched the trailer a few times now, and if I had to guess, I'd say a warlock and his shy-guy ninja friend are using zombies and Tampon Head (above) to get some sort of rune from a girl and a nerd with a sword, and also Rookie of the Year is sometimes around for no real reason.

Your mind is probably hard at work right now inventing a pretty awesome movie with that bizarre description. That movie is not this movie. This movie looks like a film school freshman directed an idiotic nightmare you had after watching a marathon of Lord of the Rings, The Birds, The Happening, Dawn of the Dead, and something with corn:

Is Brad Dourif playing literally the same character he did in Lord of the Rings? And why does this leave me with the vague feeling that I'm being tricked into watching something about Christianity?

(Thanks, Andrew.)

gaha tampon head

movie looks beyond bad btw

lame. would rather put my dick in a toaster.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

And on that note...this movie looks like it will suck the big one.
While I welcome a tampon headed villain in any movie...it just doesn't have the stuff to make it epic enough to support such a character.
Sorry, FAIL!

Someone is trying to capitalize on the success of Ink or something(visually and budget wise), nothing else explains this.

MMMMMM, something of the corn. I hope its creamed...wait, that sounds bad doesn't it?...

That. Was. So terrible.

Gotta go cut my eyes out now. Bai bai.

Ok, they should have made this trailer shorter if they only have five locations...

1) Cornfield
2) Tower with symbol on the floor
3) a field
4) a house
5 ) a street

Exciting and otherworldly! They don't have those things, er, everywhere?!

The imdb plot synopsis:

Jacob, a young man armed with a deadly sword, saves Sarah, a teenage girl, from Mathias, a malevolent evil that has begun plaguing a small farmland town while in search of an ancient necklace that had belonged to Sarahs Uncle. Jacob sets out to get Sarah home safely, running through streets, fields, churches and underground tunnels, while being pursued by hordes of demonic creatures. Along the way, both come to terms with the demons within themselves - Sarah begins to understand her hatred towards her mother and sister may be unjustified and Jacob discovers the secrets of his past, realizing the only way to truly defeat the demons is to return to the very place his family was murdered.

Still doesn't make any more sense, and somehow sounds even less appealing to me.

faggotry.

i agree this looks like a pretty poor effort, but the one shot of the guy turning into crows when cut with the sword was kinda cool.

"by the people who brought you Gooby"

@9

Sounds like every fantasy movie cliche clusterfucked into one terrible...thing,

I do like the imagery in this but the trailer doesn't make much sense.

Actually Brad Dourif has always seemed to have long hair in all his films from playing Jack Dante in Death Machine, Charles Lee Ray in the Chucky Films, Fatal Beauty, and of course Lord of the Rings. His long hair seems to just work best for him in general.

I'm kinda into this movie to be honest. Don't know what the hell this movie is about but I like the dark and brutal visuals. Love the bodies all over the place. And LUV Brad Dourif (not the mustache, white haired old man Brad). Good point Poe, he does look best with long hair as he wears it long in normal life anyways.

Huh? U listed everything cool man: Lord of the Rings, The Happening (okay maybe not this), Dawn of the Dead and combine with fantasy and sword play with gothic stuff and don't wanna see it? This looks tight, throw in some brad for badguy action (not the sissy Twilight villains but Brad "Chucky" the man) and I'm there. Don't get how this is a Christian film by any means. 'Course this film could still suck but I'll give it a shot, I gave The Happening a try after all.

Honestly, if this were a direct to dvd movie, I'd toss it onto my Netflix queue. My biggest problem with the trailer is that it repeats a lot of the same scenes which is never a great sign.

Maybe its just me but I think this movie is way epic. It's got sick action and a ton of visual eye candy. I have to check this out. I think the big problem is watchin this on a tiny screen with shitty sound. I would have to see it on a bigger screen and all. How am I supposed to get a real idea of a fantasy flick and the scope of it on some small youtube link. anyway, i think it's dope and can't wait for it. if it sucks that wouldn't be the first time i went to the movies and got disappointed. Plus I think this is just a teaser so any repetition I'll forgive. It says the movie is still in post so maybe there's more stuff to come. The first x-men trailer was Patrick Stewart just staring at Ian McKellen if i remember correctly. I don't see the Christian thing either Dudeman. I just wanna see the good vs. evil play out and see if they do anything different with it. I agree it doesn't have that pussy twilight feel. it looks darker. a lot of this twilight shit does just fuckin piss me off. but there they go makin like a billion dollars. go fuckin figure.

I kinda agree with you Fish. I'd get this through netflicks. It doesn's seem bad to me. I kinda like the visuals. This is a teaser so I'm willing to forgive as Sherlock Holmes' first teaser really repeated itself. Yeah Rowe, the Xmen 2 trailer had just patrick stewart chatting with ian mckellan while doing chess.

Also gotta agree with Rowe and Dudeman, not sure how gobs of zombies being hacked to death with Brad scaring the shit out of people is Christian, but whatever floats your boat.

wait did u like x-men? i liked the new one that was all about wolverine but not crazy about that series. i do think this movie looks cool as shit. im a little confused or curious or whatever but im still thinkin about it. this shit better come out soon. i think its cool. i like fantasy but havent seen such a sweet combo in a flick before. I HATE twilight with a passion but ill see this absolutely.

Also, the matrix trailer didn't seem to make any sense. Huh? Christian trailer?

I did like the X-Men movies. I can't say I'm much a fan of the twilight series. At least this has an established bad guy like what Dudeman said.

That's something i did notice and really like CaRa. There wasn't a lame bad guy like they had in Twilight. This is the guy who played the Gemini Killer in the Exorcist. If that movie had been more commercially known, I promise it would be included as one of the top ten "bad guy" roles with the Joker and all of them. I saw some of it about a month ago and it just blew me away. If he's playing the main bad guy in this, that's just sick. I don't know much about him but the main guy looked like one of the coolest and most badass heros I've seen. No Christian Bale bullshit with Terminator and Dark Knight. This has more of a Clash Of The Titans look. I follow X Men quite a bit and wasn't fully enthused about the latest outing. It grew on me a bit. I read they're planning a sequel. I'll have to see where they go with it.

That dude does look badass. Is this a new comic book or superhero??? That's cool since they keep remaking every other one since like the 1920's. I like.

Yup matrix trailer made no sense at all to me. But prob one of the best trilogies of all time man

Looks like it could be a cool psychological thriller Patrick, sit just fine with me. JKEP: that trailer didn't make sense but I think that's the point of a teaser trailer. Unless it's a pre established story, it's supposed to make you curious and therefore not tell the entirety of the story. That's smart on the part of the filmmaker. We get the story as they release more stuff. A new superhero done right (looks like it could be here) would be the answer to all my prayers (insert your Christian comparison). That didn't make any sense to me either. I'm really anticipating this cause I've heard nothing but non stop talk about it. I'm wondering what they put out next? If this blows I'll be seriously disappointed. I'm way too excited now. Looks dark and edgy but for real. 2 Thumbs up.

hey dude, fight club was also way dif than the trailer. no way that could have explained that awesome of a movie. shit, now i wanna see this that much more. fight club was just hard. caught me way off guard.

@17: I too saw a bunch of movies reflected in this trailer. in addition to the ones you mentioned (Twilight, Happening, LOTR) I also saw a bit of the following: Neverending Story, The Village, Signs, Pan's Labyrinth, Silent Hill, Harry Potter, and yes even...Jumanji lol. Shall we appreciate or berate this film for the blatant rip off it is and the ensuing entertainment therein? ;)

I appreciate it and applaud it for one. I love basically all of those movies. Here's the main point. It's almost impossible to do anything "original" anymore. It's all basically a reinterpretation of fucking Shakespeare to some degree. This does look very unique to me. Every race car movie oddly reminds me of Days Of Thunder or air force flick of Top Gun (the Tom Cruise affiliation is by pure chance, not intended). I get so fuckin pissed with everything they put out there all the time. not to mention every stupid thing is just a sequel or remake. Because of all that shit i majorly support this. The worst it could do is be an entertaining combination or whatever. Until then i'm stuck with batman 7 but i digress

Is it just me or are the last 15 or so comments trolls/plants?

"dark, brutal visuals"
"a superhero done right"
"The matrix is one of the best trilogies of all time." (come on, who likes the sequels?)
"I liked the new one all about Wolverine, but not the X-men series."
Continual repetition that this IS NOT IN ANY WAY Christian.
Rationalizing the repetitive trailer.

These can't be real people, can they?

I think it's about a director that overextended a budget.

@32
agreed, totally must have been plants. i wasnt sure until the matrix trilogy was called out as one of the best of all time. play it a little closer to the vest man, geez. NO ONE believes that.

Very apt description, I Watch Stuff guy.
I do believe it makes more sense than the IMDb synopsis.

DUDE what are you talking about??? I don't know about this movie but you're saying The Matrix wasn't awesome?? It revolutionized filmmaking with the whole slow down speed up action and was one of the most successful film of all times.

Its all the diehard tweenie fans that are jumping to the defense of this film now that New Moon is out.

"dark, brutal visuals" - it is to a teenie

"a superhero done right" - whahahaahaa

"The matrix is one of the best trilogies of all time." - THIS I AGREE WITH. I loved all these movies.

WTF DID I JUST WAAAATCH?!
Fan made Zelda movie trumps this big time.

matrix ruled no doubt. i have no idea what's going on with this flick but im into it. very least it aint like most other boring formulas. i'll have to see more to make a decision. matrix did revolutionize everything. this is true bud.

When this does finally air on SyFy, it is going to fit right in. That was just... bad. Maybe not "Intermedio" bad, but close.

dude tweenies are ridic and just crazy. it must be this new moon insanity. these people just go insane.

This looks like an R-rated, big budget SyFy Channel movie. Like Thor (which was more a rip off of The Thirteenth Warrior than it was about Norse mythology or a comic book character). Anyone else see the kid from Home Improvement in that one? Yeah... that was rad. And this trailer is its own worst enemy. I would agree that there are some awesome visual moments. Moments where I was like 'Okay. This is gonna be pretty damn cool.' And then It just drop kicks itself in the head with the fucking lame green screen run through the Mines of Moria.

haha mines of moria. that movie Thor was a rip off. im with u on the visuals cause they're dope. still have no clue what is going on at moments. is this movie i haven't seen it so i don't know the story at all. who knows the storyline?

wtf...uchiha Itachi is in this movie?!??!? (the guy turns to crows when cut) they stole that from the very popular anime NARUTO

here's the youtube link to him doing it.(not my video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9M8aSg0dTY
happens right at the one minute mark

how can anyone think the matrix trilogy wasn't great? and most movies are just the same story remade and told in a with a slightly different setting. i am into this but all i know is some wikipedia info. im not judging this until i see it. even if i hate this whole tween fandom craze i can't do anything about it.

some kinda harry potter thing with swords

Its the story of Voldemort after he left Hogwart's and avenged his family's murder before becoming the most powerful evil Wizard ever! Right before he partnered with the Sith and gave birth to Luc and never got laid again because women thought World of Warcraft was GAY!

0:35 - 0:36 tampon head looks like Johnny Depp, smirk and everything(mainly from edward scissor hands). I hate overall though, the poor graphics. They try doing all these animated scenes and effects, and they don't flow in the background. They look like a poor cut and paste project done in paint. very corny. Plus main guy is looking more and more like twilight crap. I hope we aren't going down that movie recession road. O_O!

Still, I'll watch it anyway. Only if it gets worse, and for the curiosity of this johnny tampon guy.

I went to new moon even though I hated it. This is twilighty I can tell by all the teeny comments on the web but I'll see it. Everyone else in the whole world is. What the hell am I missing? I need a lobotomy. Johnny Tampon needs a t- shirt.

From the people who brought you "Ghost Whisperer" and "Halloweentown"...

So it is the Crow vs Ozzy Osborne and random bad CGI?

The sad thing is I know what program this was created in haha. If this was a commercial for Adobe After Effects I would say "way to make an awesome program look cheep". Too bad. It's a great program but in the wrong hands you have a turd like this.

I have absolutely no clue how anyone could hate this movie. Screw everything else but I will never stoop to blasting off some negative shit like i have tourette syndrome on a movie I don't know anything about. If i'm basing it off the trailer I like the action and seeing people get hacked up. If it was legitimately pure crap and i knew it was, fine. Otherwise, people are just ignorant fucks to bash something that don't know shit about. I'll be there period.

good point. agreed and i respect that.

Frightening, in a bad way, not like oooo it´s scary and you grab the thighs of the nearest girl in the theater, nope, kinda quality frightening lameness.

This film looks terrible.

They tried to make it all unique and artsy and groundbreaking, but instead it looks like the kid from Blank Check (you remember) made an "Awesome" movie with his millions of dollars that nobody's ever thought of before!

Terrible.

Wow, you can tell they had absolutely no budget for decent actors, competent stunt coordinators (that sword missed by a foot), steady-handed cameramen or informed location managers. In fact, it looks like someone took a high-school video project and dumped a few thousand into post-production to add the oh-so-classy fake lighting and bird swarms.

NEEEEEEXT!

looks like new moon but better effects with weird music. aside from new moon id say no way, it looks good. at least on the verge of some ballsy goodness. fuck it im in.

brad dourif isn't a good actor. say what? plus i see tons of movies with shitty acting. concept is cool so who cares about the acting. i just want some milk duds and the afternoon away from bs

FAIL due to a disappointing lack of nudity in this clip.

THE SHIT!!! Just show more limbs cut off and put in better music. MUST SEE!

It's not a way too early aprils fool is it?

Looks pretty unique. Kind of a mashup of Pan's Labyrinth, Lord Of The Rings, Dawn Of The Dead, Twilight (Sigh), and some sort of graphic novel. Maybe Blade with a white guy. I'm a fan of 3 of 4 on the list. This trailer cuts in a way that I don't know the story at all but Dourif is the main baddy? A bit wormtongueish but that's one of his performances I am a fan of. I'll see it in theatres but they need elaborate on what kind of creatures are actually in this. Are they LOTR creatures, Hellboy characters? Where are we going with this? Someone should write a graphic novel I'd like to know the story a little better. Overall, I'm very curious. It also wreaks a bit of Harry Potter. Please don't go in a sissy direction with this.

I can not wait to see it. I love it and the music. The music just does not fit the trailer all that well. I think its weird watching something that a lot of people apparently think is epic on a computer screen. That takes away from it drastically I think. Where does the white swirly girl come from? Where does the main character with the long hair come from? Is he supernatural? I feel like I'm missing a piece to the puzzle which is eating at me. Is this like Narnia where they walk through a doorway to a fantasy world? I don't see it going in a sissy direction gerber, not after seeing this trailer. It looks like a more vengeful gothic tale. Not to mention that Dourif looks sinister and the hero dosn't look like a lamo. BUT I will be exceedingly angry if I'm wrong about all of this. First, they need to release more backstory. I was spoiled by having books to read for the Rings trilogy. Is there a comic book on this that I have just been completely missing?? CURIOUSITY

What is that black stuff coming from her hand??? Also, the trailer cut a little too fast for me but overall, i'll deal.

Hmm did I just see the temptation scene from Return of the Jedi done with a sword, laughing emperor and all?

Tampon head!! LOL
Faggiest Villain Ever!!!

I will see this just to see what her voice sounds like!

Yeah, someone needs to take the guy aside who made the trailer (prolly the same guy that directed it, wrote it, starred in it?) and tell him to edit it down & give us something resembling a story. Could you even tell what people were fighting for (or against)? The name of the good guy/badguy, what's at stake and all that typical stuff. Crescendo the action instead of relying on cutaways to other scenes (it becomes a blur of nonsense) and repetitive. Clarity & less = a helluva lot more.

At least its hackneyed dialogue is better than LotR hackneyed dialogue.

EXACTLY LOTR confuses me. why do they feel they need to create absurd new languages? Are they doing this with Avatar too? At least it doesn't look like they did that here. Release more info on the story or I'm going to go see this as a blank page but whatever the fuck ever. Looks dank just bloody fucking confusing. Maybe it's better that way.

first trailer in a while that's holding my attention as I keep going back to it to try and figure some parts out. Are they attempting to keep people in suspense? obviously good v. evil but at the very least it doesn't look completely lame and sold to 2 year olds like this super crappy sorcerer's apprentice trailer screws. bloody face girl is giving me nightmares but i like having messed up delusions in my sleep so she can stay.

And up next from Team Emo, Fading Of The Cries. Feeling sucked in to this vacuum by the effects. But music is a slipping towards Weirdville.

haha it is official. from now on, all movies have to either be emo or cg driven for people to see them. what a world we live in. in 5 years i bet we won't even be able to tell the difference between real and cg in movies.

Is this a trailer for fading of the cries or the next asshole twilight movie? What the fuck is happening to me?

I will now use this phrase for this first time...."OMG!!!!!!!!" I would say you called that one my good friend. Twilight just got swordy!

OK Dice, time for Avatar. Let's see if JC can prove you right.

I really like it! It looks epic and am I the only one who likes the music?

OK, I think a distinction needs to be made between The Matrix and The Matrix Trilogy. Matrix=Brilliant + Exciting + Creative. Matrix Trilogy= First Film Ruined by Stupid, Pointless Sequels that Fuck with the Mythology, Make the Fight Scenes Boring and Cheesy, and Emphasize the Weak Acting.

@62:"Looks pretty unique. Kind of a mashup of Pan's Labyrinth, Lord Of The Rings, Dawn Of The Dead, Twilight (Sigh), and some sort of graphic novel. Maybe Blade with a white guy"

Do you not realize how idiotic that statement is? Or are you joking?

anyone who hasn't go check out avatar its well worth it. this is so Twilight again. what it has going for it are action, looks like some nice effects, much better actor for the bad, cooler looking hero instead of some dude just trying to look sad and pretty, and pretty boring. also looks more adult. the white cone head chick is weird to the nth degree but i like that. i have zero knowledge of the story but thats where I'm at now. I'm also lost on if this is just a plain fantasy or a comic book fantasy. Looks more like the latter. Oh and the first Matrix was very good. The sequels never held me but that happens all the time and doesn't surprise me at all. Most studios ruin franchises. It takes a great director to develop the entire story over several movies. Peter Jackson did a nice job but he also had a solid blueprint to work from.

Harry Potter just had a nightmare

golly g willickers, im geeked!!

Hold on, isn't that RObin's line from the old batman series "G willikers Batman....?" Hey at leat you brought back some old childhood fantasies. If the make a third batman they should make robin make an appearence just fro that line and than kill him off. I'll have to see this now. Maybe he'll make a show in this/ Could be kinda fun huh kids?

does peter jackson have anything to do with this?
