Based on the trailer, I'd say Salt is a woman who is a KGB spy who has infultrated the USA and is working for some US government agency in some capacity where she interviews a Russian (or some foriegn country) man who uncovers her identity and she has to flee, but maintains that she is innocent until she eventually unleashes her badass awesome KGB skills and dons a different hair-do in the latter half of the film.
From the trailer, I gathered that the film would present the story as a framed woman on the run, but that there was a twist waiting for the audience in which she is revealed to be the KGB spy after all...
I'm not saying I know for sure, but that is what I would bet my chips on.
Unless you have seen it and no differently?
Please divulge if you know for sure so I can (seemingly innocently) retract the bet I have with my wife before we go see it.
I don't want to lose to that frigid snake again...
Wow, the poster kind of answers its own question. Who is Salt? Angelina Jolie. She is Salt. Although now that I think about it, that doesn't look a bit like her. So maybe Angelina Jolie with a lot of makeup and photomanipulation is Salt. Case closed.

one might say that "Salt" is peppered all over that poster.
(tiny, desperate rimshot) ;)

how old is angelina jolie?
and why does it bother me that she is not centered in the middle of that poster.

She looks pretty good here. I'm usually not a fan.

I quite like that she's not centered on the poster. Don't need to center everything.

Dammit, if even the poster doesn't know who Salt is, how are we meant to?
Stupid poster.

Ah. I see. It's meant to be "What Is Salt." White powdery stuff. Easy. But they've got to get a better proof reader.

no she is not a spy but the US thinks she is. SO she has to use her powers of being CIA or whatever to stay alive and uncover who set her up.

i slogged through Jolie's movie "Changeling" last night. I'm through with the acting duo Pitt Jolie. Their popularity defies explaination.
