Oct 14 2009We'll Have Yet Another Jack Ryan: Chris Pine This Time
Jack Ryan, the Tom Clancy character that's been played on screen by Alec Baldwin (Hunt for Red October), Harrison Ford (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger), and Ben Affleck (whatever the one with Ben Affleck in it as called) has a new classically handsome face. Variety reports Star Trek star Chris Pine is in talks with Paramount to try a second reboot of the series.
Now that we have an equal number of Jack Ryan movie portrayers and Batman movie portrayers*, I think the next step is obvious: four buddy comedies!
*We aren't counting Adam West.

@ #3: That's him from Blind Dating. The look is intentional.
Anyway, I just hope the movie is good if they get him to do it, since Chris Pine is awesome. I'm sure he could pull it off and make it great. It's the director and writers that I'm worried about.

I have a slight problem with Chris Pine: in pictures, he doesn't look... real. He looks like a character from a game. There's something of the 'Uncanny Valley' about him, like a skin shader that's not quite right, or some odd facial geometry.
We are sure he's human, right?
