Oct 7 2009Jay Leno Not Just a Hack; Also a Shill

True, some of the brands were mentioned derisively as jokes but, really, what kind of joke set-up begins with "Pantene Volumizing Shampoo"? (Answer: a terrible, corporate-sponsored joke.)

We can't be more than a few weeks away from a Mug Root Beer Dana Carvey Show-style switch to The Wendy's Jay Leno Show. Bing!

Last weeks Its Always Sunny was like that too. Makes it hard to watch.

Bill Hicks pegged him as a shill 15 years ago when he was doing Dorito's commercials

Leno is such a douche! Every funny bit he ever did was stolen, and every original bit is not funny. I hope his career tanks already! No-talent douche-rocket.

I like Leno as a person and a comedian, but his new show has so much product placement it makes me sick. The thing where they race the cars every episode is basically just one big 10 minute advertisement for Ford. Seriously, nobody cares how well Tim Allen can drive an electric car.

Corporate sponsorships on a corporate network. Nothing new. The practice is as old as TV itself.

You had me at cheese burger.

You had me at cheese burger.

I think Milton Berle started all of this. Nothing new. Don't like it, change the channel. What a bunch of whiny pimple poppers on here today!

holy shit, he is making serious bank on ad dollars.

Huh? I actually never noticed the product placement in that show...
So I guess I'm fine with it. Other shows mention brand names too, you know

Out of context people, damn. Snuggies for example. He calls them stupid all-the-time. I think he's the guy who first called them "backwards robes",

@1 I've noticed that as well. Rescue me has done the same.

Is the Wendy in this video Meredith from The Office?
