Oct 23 2009'Invictus' One-Sheet: See the Poster Before It Wins the Oscars
Continuing the recent trend of airbrushed-on-the-back-of-a-jacket poster design, Clint Eastwood's Nelson Mandela + rugby film now has an official poster on Yahoo. I'm hoping this style eventually evolves into more of an embroidered-on-a-jacket look, so that I can have a good pattern for embroidering Matt Damon on the back of my jean jacket.

So Morgan Freeman is God again? God looking down from the bright white heavens on some obnoxious little rugby player, while his thoughts appear as an iron-on graphic on the back of his jacket...

Close. It's a metaphor, you see Matt Damon is a ghost of a Rugby player (Invictus) that possess Freeman's character and then leads him to greatness hence the tagline "...He (Ghost Damon) gave him a champion."

It's actually a movie about a new line of Ed Hardy all over print suits featuring actors pretending to be historical athletes of sports not popular in the US.

Not to mention that Matt Damon is about 1/4 the size of Francois Pienaar—this poster would actually be to scale if the picture was on the back of Francois' jacket.

That is an excellent poster. And I'm impressed with how much Morgan looks like Mandela in that shot.
