Oct 12 2009Bryan Singer Wouldn't Mind Doing Those 'X-Men' Movies Some More

That last X-Men movie: that was a real stinker, eh? That was the kind of shitcake X-Man that makes you really appreciate the X-Men movies you used to have in the old days (between 2000 and 2003). Doesn't it?

Bryan Singer must realize that too--that his two pretty-decent X-Men films are looking a lot better in this post-The Last Stand era. Good enough, he's hoping, that we might be able to overlook how flat-out unmemorable Superman Returns was if he were to make another pretty-decent X-Man:

"I'm still looking to possibly returning to the 'X-Men' franchise. I've been talking to Fox about it," Singer said at a talk at the Pusan International Film Festival.

"I love Hugh Jackman. [ed. note: Who???] I love the cast," he said, referring to the Australian actor who plays Wolverine [ed. note: Oh, him].

Singer said he enjoyed making science fiction and fantasy movies because they allowed him to discuss serious issues through entertainment.

He said he likes to "trick audiences into thinking they're seeing fireworks, but they're learning about themselves and listening to what I have to say."

You may have tricked me into thinking I was seeing fireworks, Singer, but I've got news for you: I didn't listen to anything you said, and I've learned nothing about myself. So who's ahead now? You tell me. I'm not listening.

I don't know if anything can make me forget what a traincar load of fail "Superman Returns" was. Even a great X-men sequel.

I'm totally ahead of the curve on this one since I refused to watch either Last Stand or Superman Returns.

It also amuses me he thinks he's getting some sort of message across. Unless it's the whole racism thing the X-men comics have been doing for like... decades.

Brian Singer is a pompus dickbag. All I have learned from him is his only tolerable film is over-rated, and tolerable due to Kevin Spacey only.
"John" (above) Last stand was brett ratner, but it does suck ass so you did still do the right thing.

Why Can't Singer ruin something I don't love?

As long as he stays away from superman............

The only thing I didn't like about all 3 x-men movies is that they were all exactly the same movie, about exactly the same subject. Do comic books try new story arcs?

The thing I didn't like about Superman Returns is that it was a horrible movie, and Superman was a weenie who resigns himself to being a deadbeat dad.

The thing I didn't like about the F4 films is that they don't really acknowledge just how wacky-megalo-insane Doom actually is. He needs to talk in the 3rd person a LOT more.

Am I getting off topic here?

You may have tricked me into thinking I was seeing fireworks...

GOLD

@3 I know it was Ratner. I mentioned not having seen it as I can pretend it didn't exist, and Singer can make a sequel untarnished by it. :D His track record is solid but for Superman Returns, but I do agree he comes across as an ass.

sorry fellas but the xmen films sucked. Yeah at the time they wre better than most comic movies, but that doesn't mean they were good. Horrible is what all 3 were, horrible.
I blame the kaiser

The x-men franchise, just like the spider-man one, needs to be taken into a different direction. I never thought that the movies were horrible but they just arent entertaining enough to be bought on dvd or to be watched over again on FX. They shouldnt make another xmen movie unless it's really something different......and resets all the crap that X3 gave us.

I actually didn't think X3 was all that bad. Yeah it had its flaws and was the lesser of the three, but was still entertaining. It wasnt nearly as bad as spiderman 3.

I sure hope the two-good-movies-but-the-third-one-sucks paradigm doesn't afflict the new Batmans (Batmen?). I actually didn't think Superman Returns was that bad. A bit redundant, but overall well done. I never saw X-3, mercifully.

what the fu*k idiot ass movie blog didn't know who hugh jackman was...

You had your chance Singer, kick rocks.

@13

It amazes me how few comment makers seem to understand sarcasm.

I'm hopeful.

Re: #13. Damn I gotta use a different name to post under . Too many idiots share my ridiculously common name apparently. Was clearly a joke. :x
