Oct 9 2009'Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans' Trailer: Nic Cage is the Worst Lt. in This Port of Call
Nicolas Cage gets a lot of guff these days, and not without reason. Look at some of his recent catalog: Knowing? Bangkok Dangerous? National Treasure? National Treasure: Book of Secrets? Next? Ghost Rider? Just reading those titles makes my braintongue feel like it's licked a postage stamp. But those are just poor decisions; they don't necessarily reflect acting ability. I mean, who else can a director seemingly give only the instructions, "act crazy, like how Travolta would" and get whatever this is:
I think this entire movie is Cage's terrible audition reel to take over the role of the Joker.

So he's a bit cheesy - a little over the top - what do you want from entertainment? Verisimilitude? Puh-leeze. You can't deny that Nicolas Cage gives you cheese in all of it's amazingly fatty salty feet smellingly delicious flavors.

Honestly, if Cage and Kilmer weren't in this, we'd just assume it was straight to video fare, right? This looks crappy all around. Seeing Cage overact looks like it would be the most fun part of this movie.
@5: National Treasure was an anticlimactic, neutered Indiana Jones knockoff that left a taste of moldy french fries on my braintongue. Utter trash.

#6, i'm sorry about your braintongue, i'm sure that taste will come out soon.... Personally i don't like Cage all that much (he doesn't really 'act', he's just, you know... there...) But the movie itself was good, especially because of that other guy... ('Riley' i think) who saved the movie. its not the best movie ever... but its deffidently not on par with whatever the hell THIS movie is!
And come on, if you're gonna say its a rip off of something, at least say 'DA VINCI CODE' ! God...
