Oct 29 2009'Alien' Prequel To Take Place Prior To 'Alien'
Big news about Ridley Scott's Alien prequel. It's going to take place before the original! Specifically, about thirty years prior:
“It’s a brand new box of tricks,” said Sir Ridley. “We know what the road map is, and the screenplay is now being put on paper. The prequel will be a while ago. It’s very difficult to put a year on Alien, but [for example] if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place thirty years prior.”
I just hope this doesn't turn into something like The Wedding Singer, where it's just a string of jokes about how funny the fashion of the 2970s were.

Weaver can deep throat that. Or lick its eye holes. Thanks for posting the nadir of the franchise there Mark, keepsany unwarranted optimism from rising out of the depths of snarky despair another day.

i'm a huge fan of the alien franchise, not including alien vs. predator, so i hope this turns out to be awesome, though prequels always have a high chance of failure.

@3: which words did you not understand in #1's comment? Nadir? It means the absolute low point. As in, your comment is the nadir of this post.

Starting to sound good. I'm guessing it will likely cover the story of the mysterious alien ship they find in "Alien" ?

@5: You're part right... Will include the backstory siege of the Pilot ship...the last surviving of the planetary-morphing Mala'kak Genesis giants (aka "Space Jockey") losing control of the cargo, and the 'haunted halls' in deep space.
Also indications of the original exploration of forgotten ruins in the now derelict ship. The direction is cold and much darker...

@ the guy who watches stuff...
not to point out your faulty logic...but a century is 100 years, and therefore the jokes regarding dated space fashion would revolve around the 2070's. jus' sayin'.

I don't usually comment on the hilarity of your posts, but the comment about fashion in the 2970's made me piss my pants. Thanks for that.
