Sep 11 2009'Pirates of the Caribbean 4' Title Sounds Like Porn Parody
At Disney's D23 Expo today, the studio released the name and general release date for Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Maybe it's just me looking for pornography in everything, but I can't help but detect some kind of vague, sexual double-meaning in the subtitle "On Stranger Tides," like this is the porn version of the film. I don't actually know what the name would be implying, but something. Maybe that Jock Spare-Ho has sex with a lot of strangers, while on tides?
I don't know. Never mind. Pirates of the Caribbean pornos would obviously be subtitled, in order, "The Crotch of the Black Girl," "Hot Babe's Chest," and "At Cock's End." I don't know what I was thinking.

It doesn't seem a porn title, but rather one for a trashy romance novel.
Just imagine: Fabio in a billowy shirt on the cover (but then, when's he not in a billowy shirt?) and the back cover would read, "The Governor's daughter, Elizabeth Swan is now married...but her mysterious husband only returns to their marital bower once every ten years. And her erstwhile pirate paramour, Captain Jack Sparrow, is busily swashing another girl's buckle. What's a lady to do? On Stranger Tides is actually the name of a very good novel by Tim Powers; dealing with pirates, voodoo/zombies, and the Fountain of Youth. I thought the first film borrowed librally from Power's effort, so it's not surprising that they'd eventually coopt his title as well.

They did make a Pirates porno, it's just called "Pirates"
They even made an R-Rated version to rent at Blockbuster. lmao.
And I hear a sequel is being made.

I loved the book "On Stranger Tides" by Tim Powers... It would make a terrific movie. Way better than a 4th retreading of the tired pirates of the Caribbean dreck.

they already have two porn spoofs of the pirates movies, and they have neither of those titles.
