Aug 26 2009'Whip It' Poster: Sometimes Roller Derbies are Quiet, Reflective Times
Really captures the pensiveness of girls skating around knocking down other girls in skates, don't you think? You'll only find those kinds of subtle touches in a Drew Barrymore-directed film. She's Spielberg, Kubrick, Truffaut, and Ashby all melted down and poured into a golden mold labeled "America's Sweetheart."

What the hell is up with the subtitle?
Title: WHIP IT
Subtitle: WHIP IT BE YOUR OWN HERO
Did we need to repeat the title right under the title, and then cobble it with a totally unrelated phrase with no punctuation?

Nice to see they've gone with the Zoolander color scheme.

While the title and cutline are lame, the movie itself looks promising. There's a New England Roller Derby league, and I've been to some of their matches. It's fun on a bun!

Yeah, terrible poster, but I actually want to see this movie. I wanted to hate the thing, I really did, but the trailer was really fun and despite all of the weird backlash from Juno, Ellen Page is a very good actress. I've been a fan of hers since I saw Hard Candy.
