Aug 13 2009See Some 'Avatar' Next Friday
Give yourself something to lord over your nerd friends who constantly brag that they have better armor than you in World of Warcraft: next Friday, see an early, extended preview of James Cameron's Avatar, the sci-fi film everyone keeps insisting is revolutionary for some reason! A collection of scenes will be airing in select cinemas nationwide on August 21, and you can get free tickets to attend the event by going to the appropriately-named AvatarMovie.com on the 17th. So, if you want to be sci-fi geek alpha dog for a day, you'd better camp out and be there when the internet opens this Monday to ensure you get a ticket. Otherwise you're going to have to watch the shitty camera-phone bootleg I end up posting.

Pat...thats what August 21 is....the trailer gets released and an extended trailer is released.

The footage they showed us at Comic-Con wasn't revolutionary. But it was damn good and it's probably worth checking out for free in a theater if you're not busy that day.
