Aug 28 2009'Men Who Stare at Goats' Trailer: Coen Brothers Lite

This trailer for Men Who Stare at Goats is basically Diet Coen Brothers. I'm not going to say it will completely fulfill you in the same way a refreshing Coen Brothers will, but I think you'll detect enough of that distinctly Coen flavor in Grant Heslov's comedy--especially with a mustached George Clooney and long-haired, druggie Jeff Bridges--that it should at least tide you over until you can get the real deal:

Ahhhh, Coen with aspartame! Sort of refreshing.

you mean coitus?

this looks amazing

The Dude, Obi Wan, Kaiser Soze, and Danny Ocean in a movie about goat staring Jedi Government assassins? Other than needing some Ninjas, this has to be the greatest film ever made. It has to be.

sounds like my sex life.

Is it wrong to have a man crush on Ewan McGregor?

@5: No, it's not wrong, but it's definitely pretty gay.
And his American accent is horrible, I'm sorry.

dirkdboogie: you are correct.

Benito: no.

Matthew, I think a man crush is defined as not being gay. Otherwise it would just be a gay man with a crush. You're right about the accent though. You can hear the brogue creeping in all over the place.

The book by Jon Ronson was fantastic, but I can't see how they're going to make it into a movie without completely changing it, making it suck, or both. Sad thing is people will think it's fiction because it's a movie.

George explaining to Ewan what Jedi are.. Goats... the Dude's dad.. Kevin Spacey.. true story? Huh.. This looks awesome.

Benito- ...is he your only man crush? Then yea, that's okay.. We don't judge here.

my god.....i think i slunged. and i judge you benito. judge you a flaming bromancer. not that thats a bad thing.....

I'm sorry, but I'm just so turned on by the wart on his face.

this movie looks great. definitely coen-esque. glad to see jeff bridges in another comedic role. his dry humor is hilarious.

Why in the hell are the Coen brothers trying to make everyone paranoid? Just wondering.

Finally - something to get the taste of "Burn After Reading" outta my mouth. *

*(please don't flame me. It's ok to have your own opinions...right?)

Must See!!

I'm wondering if at the end of this movie, considering it has as someone said The Dude, Obi Wan, Danny Ocean, and Kaiser Soze in it if the ending is going to be something where Danny steals The Dude an even better rug (one without sentimental value), Obi Wan confesses to Kaiser that he wanted to show Anakin a lot more than just the power of The Force, and this in turn gets Kaiser to admit he's actually a closeted Hollywood actor whose best role was playing someone who didn't want to screw Annette Benning (even though she is the only woman to have ever kept Warren Beatty on a short leash and is pretty attractive for her age) or playing a criminal mastermind playing a retard.

Oh yeah, I'm so seeing this.

@duketrik: The Coen bros have nothing to do with this movie. Congrats, you're a tard.

Dialogue as fresh as a turd sandwich

matthew.... no it's totally cool.this is america, and in here we are tolerant, just like with anyone else.though you are right about the accent

If Ewan's character is supposed to be the guy who wrote the book that this movie's based on, it's okay for him to have some sort of UK accent, as Jon Ronson (the author) is Welsh. They interviewed him on Colbert recently; check it out for yourself.

It seems your terribly illegal video has been censored by the YouTube nazis. Don't feel too bad, Google is right now the worlds largest and most strict censorship organization on the planet. It's nothing personal, they just want to make sure they control all culture.

Sounds pretty tasteful... men staring at goats? What next, women staring at goats?????????
