Aug 5 2009'Lovely Bones' Trailer: To Catch a Stanley Tucci
I've grown so used to having Dateline NBC's Chris Hansen around to stop all the world's predators, it's hard to remember a time before that--a pre-Hansen era when crimes against children still existed. Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones takes us back to that time, the early '70s, when Hansen was still in school and Stanley Tucci was still able to rape and murder a girl without a camera crew busting in with some chat transcripts. The trailer has just been released, and it looks like the must-see dead-girl-watching-from-Heaven-as-Mark-Wahlberg-solves-her-murder film of the year.
UPDATE: Alright, I guess it's not on YouTube anymore. It's on the Apple, though.

Holy crap, chills achieved.
Based on LOTR and how wonderfully P. Jackson handles drama about young girls (Heavenly Creatures) I can't see how this won't be at the very least a great film.
Saoirse's good with the american accent too by the sounds of it.

I'm guessing Erica's the only girl (or at least grown man pretending really WELL to be a girl) posting on this thread so far - the Heavenly Creatures play is one of those gender specific ones (a la the LABYRINTH and ETERNAL SUNSHINE) that's always a giveaway... that and the name Erica.

The book was pretty good. The whole thing with the girl in heaven, they didn't have all that scenery. Thats P.Jackson coming into play. I'm curious of how this film will play out and if their altering the ending. Hopefully they keep it the same. It's pretty funny the ending with the killer, and like ::scratch,scratch:::: really?! Thats how it goes down. hmmm....another thing to put to the list of things to see.
