Aug 26 2009'2012' Trailer Japanese Style
Think the American 2012 trailer looked good? Wait until you see the Japanese trailer! It's still mostly shots of Earth crumbling to pieces--along with John Cusack expressing, "Ut-ohs, the Earth!"--but this time there are Japanese subtitles! But if you're really into watching ground caving in, you will love this:
If only we could get to the point of colonizing other planets, so we could also watch movies about them falling apart.

Wasn't there a time where John Cusack was a good actor? Or did I just make that up?

Oh, poor John Cusack. You're all John Cusacked out, and now you are reduced to acting like John Cusack in this.
Don't you still die in an earthquake if you're in a plane, due to the huge shifts in layers of air underneath you?
The only thing intriguing about this movie is the giant pod ships. In order to ensure survival of the human race, surely there will be a gender ratio of ten females to each male, with the women selected for their sexual characteristics. Now that would be a great movie.

or a great porno!

Who decided the mediocre left wing actors get to leave the earth and everyone else gets left behind?!
We can't balance our budget, save people from starvation, cure AIDS and flesh eating diseases or find peace in the world but we can build giant arks to send into space? Look at the trouble NASA has keeping tiles on the Space Shuttle.
I'll be in the theater mainly because I'd like to see the world end with hundreds of complete strangers munching popcorn and breaking wind.
The film looks nice and loud and technically fun, albeit inaccurate as hell. It would be more fun to watch had it been filmed in 3D, but instead we'll get "The Final Destination," at least until "Avatar" shows up to give us a head trip.
Wonder what movies will be showing the day life really does end? That's surmising movies still exist outside of our imagination.
James, you're correct about air flight. Don't forget what all those shifts would do to gravity as mass gets a affected. Don't think a small plane could navigate under a falling skyscraper either but hey, it's a science fiction movie not a documentary!

I can't wait to see this movie. Seriously, Roland Emmerich movies are a great excuse to turn your brain off for two hours.

I have a great idea for a movie. It would basically be this movie with his parents and a baby trying to get to a giant space ship. In the end though the baby would be the only one left and it would say something like 5 years later on a planet far away....
The ship would crash into earth and land in a corn field. When a local farmer and his wife show up they would see the baby and say "I think we'll call him Clark" and then it would fade to black with the words and so the legend of superman had begun. The only thing that would make this movie work is if they didn't hint at the superman surprise ending at all. Maybe meteors crashing into a corn field, but that's it.

Are you serious? It's a friggin movie. It's not like they're trying to pass this off as a documentary. Don't watch Avatar, because blue alien people don't actually exist. It's so fake.

i think what would make this a good movie is if it didnt follow a family. do something different! family tries to make it through an apocalypse? i find that very played out. war of the worlds? N E 1?
